Save the Date & Call for Abstracts – 11th Drug Abuse Research Symposium!

CDrew_logoCharles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science will be hosting its 11th Drug Abuse Research Symposium on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 8:00am to 4:00 pm. The keynote speakers will be David Satcher, M.D., Ph.D., Founder and Senior Advisor, Satcher Health Leadership Institute, Morehouse School of Medicine, 16th US Surgeon General and Wilson Compton, M.D., M.P.E., Deputy Director, National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA).

As part of the 11th Drug Abuse Research Symposium, we will have slots for presentations by junior researchers in the broad field of substance abuse. Approximately 4 abstracts will be selected for oral presentations and up to seven abstracts will be selected for poster presentation. Preferences will be given to abstracts related to the themes of 11th Drug Abuse Research Symposium-Prescription Drug Abuse, Marijuana Legislation and Electronic Cigarettes.

Please send your abstract (pdf file) by email to theodorefriedman@cdrewu.edu by July 15, 2016. The abstract should list title, authors and affiliations and text of no more than 200
words and should be publication-ready. The top presentation will receive an award. Please encourage trainees and students to participate and attend the day.
